Julie grew up in Henderson County. An education major at Monmouth College, she went back to  school and spent 25 years in the medical field. After welcoming countless babies into the world, Julie now welcomes the community into the Family Outreach Community Center. She has volunteered in the community by helping with the school district's literacy program, the Alzheimer's Association, Relay for Life, Reach to Recovery, Des Moines County Historical Society, religious education and has been a Hospice volunteer since 1995. She is Mom to Cassidy, Dylan and Evan, and owner to 2 senior chihuahuas, Skippy and Lola.
